Spring Term
What is AI?
In computing, Year 6 have been learning about Artificial Intelligence. They have discussed what is meant by intelligence and realised that computers don't actually have intelligence, they are just programmed by computer programmers to appear clever. They learnt that Machine Learning is the process of developing an AI model using vast amounts of data. The model uses this data to make predications when asked questions or completing a task and, as they found out, it doesn't always get it correct! They also created their own AI models using the websites: Teachable Machine and Machine Learning for Kids.
Autumn Term
During the autumn term, year 6 took part in a black Victorians workshop whereby they had to use census data to work out different aspects of black Victorians lives. The children also got the opportunity to ask questions about what it is like to work at the National Archives.
